Only fools win arguments

He loves to argue. It’s some sort of passion for him.
“You are a good guy,” I told him.
“What do you mean? Everyone says I am argumentative,” he said.
“Forget others. I know you work hard,” I said.
“What’s the use? I hardly earn enough.”
“All will be fine buddy,” I tried to convince him.
“Then why don’t you exchange your salary with me?”
I realised there was no point in trying to convince him.
“OK, take care,” I tried to move off.
“Listen, I know how to take care of myself. You better take care,” was his reply.
It took so long to realise I was an idiot who tried to convince a fool.
Someone rightly said: “Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.”
You might have heard this joke:
After an argument, husband pointed at a buffalo and told his wife:
“There goes your relative.”
“Yep,” she replied, “My in-law.”

  4. I know this character type. I work with a few. Instead of arguing, I just say "Really?" or "Thank you for your opinion." They sometimes walk away from me steaming, but I am not dragged down. You can't trap me! haha

Ramesh, it is wonderful to read your writing again. I have moved to Ohio and am all settled in now. My work load has decreased by half since my training is completed. I can't wait to start blogging again. How I have missed you! I have missed everyone else, but I miss you the most, buddy. I hope all is well. Much love and cheers. XOX

  11. You are right for it is pointless to get into an argument with anybody, leave alone only fools. It is a sheer waste of time and energy, both are very precious.
The best thing is to listen without saying anything, so once there is no provocation, the jobless fellow would find someone else to bug, leaving us alone.
I wish I could be as precise as you are in your writing.
But then I came to blogging only because I can write without being precise.
