The mischievous friend

“There are more chickens than people in the world,” muttered my friend.
“So?” I asked.
“You should now consider turning non-vegetarian.”
“Very often I am the odd man out at parties here when my friends gleefully gulp meat, chicken, shrimps and all kinds of Arabic non-veg food like ‘Harees.’ It’s a personal choice. I have absolutely no objection,” I replied.
“The problem is you don’t booze, no smoking, what kind of a dreary life is yours?”
“Again, individual choice,” I replied.
He was adamant. “But I think you should taste non-veg food. Anyway, how did you like the ‘cutlet’ you just had?”
“Yummy,” I replied.
“Well, it is chicken cutlet.”
He vanished before I could throw the plate on him.

  4. :( And I gave up reading a post called "Subliminal Mindfuck" because I thought this post was about me!! :(

:D Glad to see you can laugh about it on the blog rather than join the PETA and stage naked protests in front of your friends' house.

I shall now go to "Subliminal Mindfuck"

  5. Yes, we encounter such incidents while having food, especially with friends. But food preference is purely a personal choice and solely depends on the interest of a person.

There are even another category of people who allow you to pick the dish of your choice but will force you to gobble up everything till you are down with a heavy stomach :)

Thanks buddy, for sounding an alarm; well yes, I have been sleeping for longer time these days :)

  11. I am also a vegetarian. Such things happen because our non-vegetarian friends think we are missing out a lot. They are desperate to see that we taste meat

  15. I get grief from people all the time over my diet, but (thankfully) nobody has ever tricked me into eating meat. That would make me so angry...and sick too. If your body isn't used to consuming meat, you can become very ill. It would be nice if everybody would just respect the lifestyle choices of one another and stop trying to convert everybody to be just like them. It's strange how some people need that validation, isn't it? So long as your friend is not harming his or herself, why not just let them be? Free to be you and me is my motto.

  20. Violence and you pal don't go well together. Throwing the plate is a waste of crockery and an insult to the dead chicken as well as the cook.

Now, I am veggie too and if that happens to me since I am not as amiable as you your friend would get a mouthful of @#$%^&*(***### as well as a hiding depending on how we compared on size ( We must be practical you know. If he was a lot bigger, throw the plate and run would be appropriate)
